Google is announcing its Pixel 8 series tomorrow and we’ve already seen countless leaks but here’s one more. M. Brandon Lee from This is Tech Today shared several images of the Pixel 8 Pro running the Device Info HW and AIDA64 apps which reveals detailed specs on the new Tensor G3 chip.
Tensor G3 features a 9-core CPU with a
Cortex-X3 prime core clocked at 2.91 GHz, 4x Cortex-A715 cores clocked at
2.37GHz and 4x Cortex-A510 cores humming at 1.7GHz. The other notable bit is
the Mali-G715 GPU and 12GB RAM. Tensor G3 is fabbed on Samsung’s 4nm process
technology and incorporates the FO-WLP packaging process which should result in
lower heat generation and improved power efficiency compared to Tensor G2.
Apart from the chipset details, the latest
leak also confirms a Goodix optical fingerprint scanner integrated inside the
display panel. Pixel 8 Pro is expected to launch with a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED
screen with QHD+ resolution and a 1-120Hz refresh rate. The back will feature a
50MP main camera alongside a 48MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom and a new 48
MP ultrawide camera.
The software side should be handled by
Android 14 and the device will be available in Obsidian, Sky Blue and Porcelain
colors. Pixel 8 Pro is expected to start at US$ 899 in the US and £ 999 in the UK.
