At the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) event today, Reliance Jio unveiled a new mobile phone in the Indian market called the JioPhone Prima 4G. Though it might look like a typical feature phone, it supports many popular apps like YouTube and WhatsApp.
Key features of the JioPhone Prima 4G
include 4G connectivity, an 1800mAh battery, and support for 23 languages. It
has a premium, rounded design with a Jio logo encased within concentric circles
on the rear panel and a thickness of just 1.55cm.
Under the hood, the JioPhone Prima 4G is
powered by an ARM Cortex A53 processor with 128GB expandable storage. It
supports FM Radio and features a 3.5mm audio jack. Running on KaiOS, it offers
a single SIM slot and Bluetooth version 5.0. For those unfamiliar with KaiOS,
it is a mobile operating system that is designed for smart feature phones. It
is based on the Firefox OS open-source project and supports over 1200 apps
including WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, and Google Maps.
The JioPhone Prima 4G comes with a bunch
of pre-loaded apps including YouTube, JioTV, Jio Cinema, JioSaavn, JioNews,
etc. The JioPhone Prima 4G is priced at Rs 2,599 and is available in blue and
yellow variants on JioMart. Launch offers include cashback deals, bank offers,
