Honor just unveiled the Play 8T - an affordable smartphone with a big battery and a Dimensity 6080 chipset with a 2.4 GHz CPU. The screen of the Honor Play 8T is a 6.8” LCD with a Full HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. It's claimed to reach 850 nits of brightness. The processor is split into two core clusters - two Cortex-A76 cores are clocked at the top speed of 2.4 GHz, while the other six Cortex-A55 cores run at up to 2.0 GHz.
The 50 MP main camera on the back has an
f/1.8 lens and sits next to a 2 MP depth sensor. The selfie camera, sitting
inside a punch hole has an 8 MP sensor and f/2.4 lens. The phone has a 6,000
mAh battery with 35W charging support.
Honor Play 8T comes with Android 13,
topped with MagicOS 7.2. Other highlights include stereo speakers, a 3.5 mm
audio jack, a micro SD slot, and a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power
key. Honor is offering the Play 8T in three colors - Midnight Black, Jade
Green, and Streaming Silver. The price for an 8/256 GB variant is CNY 1,099
(US$ 150/€ 142), while the 12/256 GB option is CNY 1,299 (US$ 170/€ 160). Sales
are already underway at the company website and major third-party retailers in
China.
