Samsung Galaxy A05s

Samsung's ever-expanding roster of entry-level devices is about to get even more crowded, as the company is working on the upcoming Galaxy A05s. This device has been leaked today, and you can take a look at the CAD-based renders below to see it in all its affordable glory. The A05s measures 167.9 x 77.7 x 8.8 mm according to the same source that brought us the renders, and it will fit a 6.6-inch screen in that chassis, which as you can see has a waterdrop notch (that Samsung calls "Infinity-V"). It will pack a 4,000 mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. A 3.5 mm headphone jack is in.

The rest of its specs remain shrouded in mystery, but of course you shouldn't expect anything too flamboyant. This handset will be all about the price. It's already received the pre-launch nod from the FCC, which means we might see it becoming official in the coming weeks.

To get a comparison point, last year's Galaxy A04s, which this model will replace, comes with a 6.5-inch 720x1600 90 Hz LCD touchscreen, the Exynos 850 SoC, up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, a triple rear camera system (50 MP main, 2 MP macro, 2 MP depth sensor), a 5 MP selfie snapper, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 15W wired charging. So the A05s cuts the battery capacity significantly while upping the charging speed, in a pretty weird move.
