Nikon launched its new retro-style 24.5MP full-frame mirrorless camera with the new EXPEED 7 processor and 8-stop in-body image stabilization. The new camera features the EXPEED 7 image processing engine that was introduced with the Nikon Z9 and Z8. Alongside are the 24.5MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor and Nikon's 3D tracking plus deep learning-based subject detection and 273 AF points. It can detect and focus on people, dogs, cats, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trains and planes.
The added processing power lets it achieve
5-axis in-camera vibration reduction at up to class-leading 8-stops. It can
record 4K UHD at 30fps oversampled from 6K from the full width of the sensor.
With DX-mode (crop), it can achieve 4K UHD 60fps recording and up to 1080 at
120p slow motion at up to 125 minutes of record time. It records up to 10-bit
H.265 internally and it supports N-Log 2. Photos and Videos are saved to one
UHS-II card slot and to one UHS-I microSD card slot.
It features a 2.1 million dot 3.2-inch
fully-articulating touch screen and a 3.69 million dot EVG with a 0.8x
magnification and 100 percent coverage. The camera connects wirelessly thru
WiFi and it features the following ports: USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, micro HDMI,
microphone, and headphone jacks. It supports USB-C charging. It has a shutter
speed range of 900 sec up to 1/8000 second and powering the camera is the
EN-EL15c that is CIPA rated for 380 shots.
The body's exterior is inspired by the
Nikon FM2 film camera and Nikon claims that it is rugged and reliable in
construction with its magnesium alloy front top plates. It was engineered for
high dust and high drip resistance with its 11 seal points on the exterior
cover joins, shutter release buttons and vari-angle mechanism. It even features
an electro-conductive coat that should keep the surface of the camera clean
from dust and a fluorine coat that makes it easier to clean. The Zf also lets
its users express their own style through six different color options: Indigo
Blue, Sepia Brown, Bordeaux Red, Sunset Orange, Moss Green, and Stone Gray. The
camera measures 144 x 103 x 49mm and weighs 710 grams with the battery
included.
