Motorola unveiled the Edge 40 Pro in April and followed up with the Edge 40 a month later. Today, the company expanded the Edge 40 lineup by announcing the Motorola Edge 40 Neo. The Motorola Edge 40 Neo is powered by the Dimensity 7030 SoC that's paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It comes with up to 256GB of storage onboard and runs Android 13 out of the box with support for Moto Connect and Ready For.
The smartphone is built around a
6.55" FullHD+ 10-bit pOLED curved display with a 144Hz refresh rate and
360Hz touch sampling rate. It has DCI-P3 coverage and a peak brightness of
1,300 nits. The screen also has HDR10+ certification, a fingerprint reader
underneath for biometric authentication, and a centered punch hole for the 32MP
selfie camera.
Around the back, we have a camera island
housing flash and two cameras - 50MP primary with OIS and 13MP ultrawide with a
120° FOV. The latter has autofocus for macro shots. The Motorola Edge 40 Neo
comes in three colors - PANTONE Black Beauty, PANTONE Soothing Sea, and PANTONE
Caneel Bay. The black version's rear panel is acrylic, while the back covers of
the other two models are made of vegan leather, making them a tad thicker and
heavier than the black variant.
The rest of the Motorola Edge 40 Neo's
highlights include IP68 rating, 5G support, and NFC. The smartphone also comes
with stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos, and fueling the entire package is a 5,000
mAh battery with 68W charging. Motorola says the bundled 68W power adapter can
fill the 5,000 mAh cell from flat to 50% in 15 minutes.
Motorola also said that the Edge 40 Neo is
"made to last and love," and to reinforce the company's commitment to
a more sustainable future, the smartphone is sold in 100% plastic-free
packaging, featuring soy ink and 60% recycled materials. The Lenovo-owned brand
also partnered with agood company for the Edge 40 Neo's bundled protective
case, which comes in corresponding colors. It is entirely bio-degradable and
made 100% from plants. And when it's time to change the case, agood will
repurpose the old case into something new to avoid wastage.
The Motorola Edge 40 Neo will be on sale
in EMEA from today with a starting price of € 99. The phone will launch in
India on September 21 and will be sold through Motorola India's official
website, Flipkart, and retail stores across the country.
