Realme is allegedly working on a new tablet. A rather detailed leak showcases the Realme Pad 2 4G. As per the source, the upcoming device will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. After some experimentation with Qualcomm in the Realme Pad X and Unisoc in the Realme Pad Mini, it seems that the company has once again settled for a MediaTek chip, just like on the original Realme Pad.
The Helio G99 will likely be paired with
8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The Realme Pad 2 is expected to feature an
8,360 mAh battery with 33W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. The four
distinct speaker grills - two on the top and two on the bottom of the tablet
instantly stick out from the leaked images. Apparently, there are not just for show
since the source claims the Realme Pad 2 will have a four-speaker setup.
Even though the camera island appears to
house two cameras, the source claims that there is only one 20MP rear snapper.
Upon closer inspection, the other rear module seems more like an LED flash.
Finally, as per the leak, the Realme Pad 2 will ship with Android 13 and Realme
UI 4.0. It is worth noting that the original Realme Pad is still stuck on
Android 11, while the Realme Pad X is running Android 12, and the question of
updates is still up in the air.
Unfortunately, the source does not share
any details on the size of the Realme Pad 2 4G or its display. We expect it to
be an LCD, but that's about it. We can allegedly expect to hear more about the
Realme Pad 2 in August or September.
