MWC Shanghai is taking place right now, and George Zhao, Honor CEO, had a keynote on innovation and evolution in the world of mobile phones. During his speech, he revealed that his company will launch the new Honor Magic V2 on July 12. According to the executive, the new phone will “revolutionize the foldable experience”.
When Honor launched the Magic Vs, it was
an improvement over the first Magic V with a 10% lighter body and overhauled
hinge. The CEO did not reveal what would make the V2 so revolutionary, but we
expect the company to cover some of its predecessors' disadvantages. We hope to
see waterproofing, some wireless charging and more features in a half-folded
state.
We already heard the date July 12 in a
rumor from last week. The source claimed the LTPO AMOLED will have a higher
refresh rate with high-frequency PWM dimming. The phone might come in two
versions, one with last summer’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and the other with the
current flagship chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Hopefully, Honor will share more
details and features in the days leading to the event.
