Back in January, Samsung previewed its Odyssey OLED G9 monitor at the CES 2023 event. Around six months after that, the brand has now finally launched the monitor for the US and Korean markets. The highly anticipated Odyssey OLED G9 is now open for pre-orders in the United States. Although the official price has yet to be disclosed, eager customers can reserve their unit through Samsung’s website starting today. To sweeten the deal, Samsung is offering a US$ 50 instant discount and a generous US$ 250 gift card for those who secure their purchase during the pre-order phase. Speculations in the tech community suggest that the Odyssey OLED G9 may carry a price tag of approximately US$ 2,500 in the US market.
Meanwhile, in South Korea, the Odyssey
OLED G9 comes in two variants. The G95SC variant, which boasts Smart Hub and
Samsung Gaming Hub services, is priced at KRW 2.7 million (US$ 2,095). On the
other hand, the G93SC variant, lacking Smart Hub and other smart features,
carries a price tag of KRW 2.2 million (US$ 1,707). South Korean consumers can
look forward to the G95SC variant being available from July 3, with the G93SC
variant set to launch sometime later next month. The Odyssey OLED G9 is a
49-inch QD-OLED monitor with a gently curved panel featuring a 1800R curvature.
It boasts a Dual QHD resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels, delivering a wide and
immersive viewing experience with its 32:9 ultrawide aspect ratio.
With a remarkable 240Hz refresh rate and a
rapid 0.03ms response time, the Odyssey OLED G9 ensures smooth and fluid
motion, minimizing lag and blur. Its Neo Quantum Processor Pro chip enhances
image rendering, resulting in exceptional clarity and vividness. The monitor
supports HDR10+ and carries VESA’s DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification,
providing deep blacks and vibrant colors. For gaming enthusiasts, the Odyssey
OLED G9 offers AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync Compatibility,
delivering tear-free and stutter-free gaming sessions. The monitor comes
equipped with an HDMI 2.1 port, a Micro HDMI 2.1 port, and a DisplayPort 1.4
port for versatile connectivity options. It also features a USB 3.0 hub, a
height-adjustable stand, and support for VESA mounting.
Running on the Tizen operating system, the
Odyssey OLED G9 provides a user-friendly interface and includes popular audio
and video streaming apps. Additionally, the Samsung Gaming Hub offers access to
cloud game streaming services from Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Utomik.
