The Retroid Pocket 3 Plus Metal Edition gaming handheld will go on sale on June 17. The Retroid Pocket 3 Plus Metal Edition is an upgraded version of the Pocket 3 Plus launched in 2022. It comes with a metal case and hall effect joysticks among other features.
The Retroid Pocket 3 Plus Metal Edition is
heavier than the standard model by 50g. It weighs 285g mainly due to its metal
shell. The Pocket 3 Plus was announced last November and featured a 4.7-inch
display with a UNISOC Tiger T618 chipset. It packs a 4,500mAh battery and has
4GB RAM. These features were all retained in the refreshed handheld. The nature
of the metal casing used for the new gaming handheld was not disclosed by the
company. As per the higher weight of the Metal Edition, it has a 21% increase
from the standard model. The use of a metal case provides a premium feel for
the product.
The inclusion of Hall effect joysticks is
another improvement from the standard model. This provides for improved accuracy
and the elimination of drift errors. The Retroid Pocket 3 Plus Metal Edition
will be available for pre-order from June 17. Pre-orders are exclusively
available on the company’s website but the expected delivery date is lacking at
this time. The price of the Pocket 3 Plus Metal Edition is US$ 179 which is US$ 30
more expensive than the Pocket 3 Plus.
