During the Honor 90 and 90 Pro launch event last month, Honor also unveiled its new X5 TWS earbuds with basic features and a 27-hour battery. Surprisingly, the company has now unveiled a new pair of wireless earbuds that cost peanuts in comparison to the X5 but offer much better specifications. They offer active noise cancellation up to 30dB, a longer-lasting 35-hour battery, and even the design looks sleeker.
The new Honor X5s earbuds support up to 30
dB of active noise cancellation and also feature a transparency mode that
allows you to hear environmental noise. You can easily switch between these two
modes as per your preference. To remind you, the Honor X5 earbuds lacked ANC
and debuted with Environmental noise cancellation, which barely offers any
utility.
The new headset features an in-ear design
and is equipped with a 10mm driver unit. It supports ENC dual microphone call
noise reduction and AAC high-definition codec. Inside the earbuds, there is a
dual-mode Bluetooth 5.3 chip for connectivity, and it is also IP54 dustproof
and waterproof.
When you connect the new TWS earbuds to an
Honor mobile phone, they support quick pairing by opening the pop-up window.
You can customize the touch and sound settings in the Honor Smart Space App.
The new earbuds come with an oval charging case that features a USB-C charging
port. They provide 9 hours of battery life when used individually and can reach
a total of 35 hours of battery life with the charging case.
Now, let’s look at the price. The Honor
X5s earbuds are currently listed on Jingdong at a price of 119 Yuan, which is
approx. US$ 16. This pricing is remarkably competitive for a pair of earbuds that
offer active noise cancellation. In fact, it seems almost too good to be true,
especially considering that the Honor X5 earbuds were initially launched in
China with a price tag of 299 Yuan, around US$ 40. Note that both earbuds aren’t
available outside China yet.
