Skyworth continues to expand its product range. The company recently introduced the Coocaa X5 projector and is now grabbing attention with the stylish A7D series wallpaper TVs. After its initial appearance at the AWE 2023 show in April, this new TV model is now available for pre-orders.
The wallpaper TV concept was first
introduced a few years ago by manufacturers like Samsung and LG with their
premium models. These products, with their extremely thin frames and bodies,
look more like a picture or wallpaper on your wall rather than a television.
Initially, these TV models were quite expensive, but prices have become more
reasonable over time. Skyworth has recently made its 85A7D and a smaller model,
the 75A7D, available for pre-order.
The 85A7D is currently retailing for
13,999 Yuan, with its smaller counterpart, the 75A7D, priced at 6,999 Yuan. As
their names suggest, the unique selling point of these TVs is their “ultra-thin
seamless wall-mounting” design. With its slim 39.9mm body, this TV effortlessly
blends with your wall, creating a seamless interface between technology and
home decor.
The Skyworth team dedicated significant
time and resources to overcome several technical hurdles. These included
finding solutions for heat dissipation and mechanical vibration, as well as
crafting an innovative module design. The A7D series goes beyond its ultra-thin
design, offering Bluetooth speaker functionality. This means that you can
connect it to your smartphone and use it as a Bluetooth speaker, with dynamic
lyrics displayed right on the screen.
In terms of smart TV performance, the A7D
series has a powerful dual-core A55 + dual-core A75 chip, 4+64GB storage, and a
smart dimming system. With 144 levels of light zoning (112 for the 75-inch
model and 84 for the 64-inch model), a peak brightness of 1000nit, and support
for 97% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, the TV promises stunning image quality.
Looking at connectivity options, it comes
with a 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 interface that supports a 4K 240Hz refresh rate,
variable refresh rate (VRR), and automatic low latency (ALLM). There’s also a
USB 3.0 interface for easy connection to other devices. However, whether these
features are worth the price is ultimately a decision left to the consumer.
