As previously reported, Oppo has been working on a brand-new mid-range smartphone for quite a while. Name Oppo A98 5g, the smartphone has started to make rounds in the interest. And last week, the phone made its debut on Geekbench, showcasing its excellent mid-range performance.
Before getting to the scores and specs,
you need to know that the smartphone is reported to be a rebranded version of
Oppo A1 5G. That means the Oppo A98 5G will likely debut at around $290,
considering that the Chinese version went for 1999 yuan. And for the price,
like the Chinese version, the Global variant has a lot to offer.
According to the Geekbench website, the
Oppo A98 5G will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC. As you might know, it
is a mid-range SoC that features 8 Kryo 660 cores that are divided into two
clusters. The A98 appears to be running with a good clock speed, which tops at
2.21 GHz. For that reason, you can expect it to perform great in day-to-day
apps. The gaming performance should also be decent, considering the fact that
the chipset pairs with an Adreno 619 GPU. Also, Geekbench listed the Oppo A98
5G with 8GB of RAM and Android 13.
But what about the score? Well, the Oppo
A98 5G is on par with other Snapdragon 695 phones, which includes the recently
released OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite. It achieved 899 in the single-core test and
2114 in the multi-core test. Besides that, the Oppo A98 is reportedly with a
6.7-inch FHD+ display. The panel sports a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh
rate. When it comes to cameras, the phone will boast a 64MP main sensor on the
back with 2MP depth and macro sensors. And for selfies, it will pack a 32MP
sensor housed in a punch-hole cutout.
