Reliance Jio has launched JioDive, the company’s new smartphone-based virtual reality headset, for the IPL season. The company said that you can watch TATA IPL on JioCinema in 360 VR on a 100-inch virtual screen in your virtual living room with the headset. Jio has also released the JioImmerse app in beta for both Android and iOS, and said that the headset is compatible with phones with display size between 4.7 and 6.7 inches.
The phone must also be equipped with a
Gyroscope & an Accelerometer and run Android 9 and above or iOS 15 and
above. The app shows if the phone is compatible. Jio 4G, 5G or a JioFiber
connection is required to access the JioImmerse app, said Jio. The headset has
a click button located at the bottom right side to easily navigate and interact
in VR. There are adjustment wheels to
fine-tune the lenses and adjust the focus for a sharper image.
The central wheel helps to eliminate the
double image for best viewing experience. The headset supports a wide range of
VR apps and experiences across gaming, entertainment, learning, wellness and
more, adds the company. We had already seen Google Cardboard and several
smartphone-based VR headsets for the past 8 years, but the crazy died down
eventually.
The JioDive is priced at Rs. 1299 and is
now available from JioMart. It is backed by 3 months warranty.
