Nvidia today announced the mid-range models of its GeForce RTX 40-series of consumer graphics cards. The 4060 series will include three models, the RTX 4060, the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB, and the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB.
The RTX 4060 features the AD107 GPU with
3072 CUDA cores, about 52% of the AD104 on the 4070. It has a base clock speed
of 1.83GHz and boost clock speed of 2.46GHz. Nvidia claims the 4060 is 1.2x
faster than the 3060 and 1.6x faster than the 2060 without frame generation.
The 4060 will come with 8GB of 128-bit
GDDR6 memory clocked at 17Gbps along with 24MB of L2 cache. It features the
same 3rd Gen RT cores and 4th Gen Tensor cores as other Ada Lovelace cards,
which enables features such as DLSS 3 Frame Generation. You also get 1x 8th Gen
Nvidia Encoder (NVENC), which enables encoding and decoding AV1 content. The
RTX 4060 has a total power rating of 115W and can feature either a single
12VHPWR connector or a single 8-pin or 6-pin connector depending on the
manufacturer. There will be no Founders Edition card from Nvidia. The RTX 4060
prices start at $299 and will be available in July.
The RTX 4060 Ti features the larger AD106
GPU with 4342 CUDA cores, roughly 57% of the 4070 Ti GPU. It has a base clock
speed of 2.31GHz and boost clock speed of 2.54GHz. Nvidia claims the 4060 Ti is
1.15x faster than the 3060 Ti and 1.6x faster than the 2060 Super without frame
generation.
The 4060 Ti will come in two memory
configurations featuring either 8GB GDDR6 or 16GB GDDR6. In either case, it
will have the same 128-bit memory interface and will be clocked at 18Gbps with
32MB L2 cache. The 4060 Ti has a total board power of 160W for the 8GB model
and 165W for the 16GB model. Aside from that, the specs are similar to the
4060.
The 4060 Ti will be available in 8GB model
from Nvidia as well as board partners while the 16GB model will only be
available from board partners. It starts at US$ 399 for the 8GB model and US$ 499 for
the 16GB model. The 4060 Ti 8GB will be available starting May 24.
The 16GB model will be available in July.
