Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 is a brilliant clamshell foldable but unlike its competitors, the smartphone comes with a smaller outer screen with limited functions. It can be used to see your current notifications, battery percentage, date, and time, but not a whole lot more. However, it seems the Korean company is planning on upsizing the cover display with the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Some leaked renders show evidence for the same.
A design render shared by Sammobile
suggests Samsung is going to do some major changes on its upcoming clamshell
foldable. As you can see in the image, the cover screen for the Galaxy Z Flip 5
appears to be quite a bit larger compared to previous models. It can be seen
taking up most of the space on the front outer display and is definitely larger
than what Oppo offers on the latest Find N2 Flip.
While it is unclear how Samsung will
utilize a larger cover screen, we can expect it to offer far more functions
than its predecessor. It is possible that the brand might allow full-fledged
Android apps to be used on the outer display, especially since numerous
third-party developers are already doing so. It may also include support for
timers, the camera, and weather forecast.
Although the exact dimensions of the cover
screen are not disclosed, sources tell Sammobile that it will fall within the
range of 3 to 4 inches. Nevertheless, based on the measurements of the Galaxy Z
Flip 4, the publication anticipates that it will most likely be closer to the
lower end of that range.
