Last year, Huawei sold off the Maimang brand to China Telecom. The new owner released Maimang 11 in May. Almost a year later, the carrier has now launched the successor of this handset dubbed as Maimang 20. Just like the previous model, the new one is also a budget 5G smartphone. It comes with several upgrades over its predecessor along with a revamped design.
The newly released Maimang 20 arrives with
a flat frame design, like most phones on the market these days. It sports two
big circular modules for cameras like some Huawei and Honor devices. On the
front, the handset flaunts a 6.78-inch centered punch-hole display. This LCD
screen offers a resolution of 2388 x 1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a
240Hz touch sampling rate.
The smartphone comes powered by a Qualcomm
Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC. On the software front, it boots Android 12. For optics,
it uses a 64MP primary camera, which is assisted by a 2MP depth sensor. On the
front, it has an 8MP shooter.
Last but not least, the device draws
energy from a 5,000mAh battery and carries support for 40W fast charging. The
Maimang 20 is priced at ¥ 1,799 (US$ 260) and ¥ 1,999 (US$ 290) for 8GB + 256GB and
12GB + 256GB memory configurations, respectively. It can be availed in either
silver, black, or green color options. The phone is available for pre-order
starting today (April 3) and will go on sale from April 7.
