The flagship HW-Q990C has two back speakers and a wireless subwoofer. Samsung’s Q-Symphony 3.0 “precisely directs individual audio elements” through the soundbar and TV speakers. Samsung says Q-Symphony can use 22 audio channels with a compatible TV’s CPU.
The Q990C can “automatically match
acoustically” with the company’s TVs, ensuring optimal performance. When
coupled with a Samsung TV, the soundbar handles conversation while the
display’s speakers handle surround sound. This reportedly improves 3D audio,
according to the company.
Samsung’s SpaceFit calibration adjusts the
TV for your living room or home theater. AI adjusts driver frequencies and gain
levels to fill a room, according to the company. A nighttime mode controls
loudness, Adaptive Sound 2.0 employs AI to optimize audio, and Game Pro 2.0
adjusts settings for different genres. The HW-Q990C is also a compatible
SmartThings hub with voice control and app-based changes.
