Philips recently introduced two new monitors to the market called the Philips 27B1U7903 and the Philips Evnia gaming monitor. The former is a professional-grade 4K monitor with a Mini LED backlight & thunderbolt 4 port, while the latter is a 34-inch curved screen gaming monitor with a 165Hz refresh rate.
The brand has now introduced the
40B1U5601H, a modified version of the 40B1U5600 that the company has been
selling for the previous month or so. In summary, the 40B1U5601H replaces the
dull panel with a 5 MP webcam. All other characteristics, such as a pair of 5 W
speakers, are shared by the pair.
Both monitors are powered by a 40-inch IPS
screen with W-LED backlights and a resolution of 3,400 x 1,440 pixels in a 21:9
aspect ratio. Furthermore, when connected to a device through DisplayPort or
USB Type-C, both monitors offer 120 Hz refresh rates, but only 100 Hz when
using HDMI. Furthermore, Philips asserts that the 40B1U5601H’s 1,200:1 contrast
ratio and 4 ms GtG reaction times are identical to those of the 40B1U5600. The
40B1U5601H only delivers 300 nits of peak brightness, in contrast to the
40B1U5600’s 500 nits and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification.
Philips also included a single DisplayPort
1.4, HDMI 2.0, and USB Type-C connection on each monitor, with the latter
supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode and 100 W Power Delivery. Like the 40B1U5600,
the 40B1U5601H has a USB Type-A hub and an RJ45 Ethernet port. Philips is
already selling the 40B1U5600 for £649.99; the 40B1U5601H will be made
available later this month for £ 739.99.
