Back in August 2022, OnePlus launched the OnePlus Nord Buds as a budget-range TWS offering for the Indian market, which later made its way to other markets. It debuted with a price tag of Rs. 2,799 (US$ 34) and understandably lacked some premium features like ANC (Active noise cancellation).
Now, the brand is preparing to launch the
successor to its affordable earbuds soon in the Indian and global markets.
Ahead of the launch, the device appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards
website, solidifying these claims.
The OnePlus Nord Buds 2, which could be
released shortly, has appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards with the model
number E508A. There is no additional information regarding the earbuds in the
BIS listing. However, a few further certifications have produced some
additional information about the earphones. On the CQC certification website,
the Nord Buds 2 was spotted, and it was discovered that the charging case would
have a Type-C charging connector. While the earphones may be capable of 1.5W
charging, the casing will at least handle 4.5W.
The earphones have also been seen on the
IMDA certification page, albeit there wasn’t much information available there.
There are still many questions surrounding the impending Nord Buds 2. Taking a
look at the Nord Buds, the earbuds feature a 12.4mm titanium dynamic driver.
According to manufacturer claims, each earbud’s 41mAh battery can play music
for up to 7 hours. The case adds 30 hours of additional juice. With a flat stem
construction and an IP55 rating for sweat and dust protection, the earphones
are durable.
