Lenovo has launched the ThinkPad X1 Carbon 30th Anniversary Edition. The model is released to mark the 30th anniversary since the brand released the first ThinkPad laptop. There are about 5,000 units of this limited-edition commemorative ThinkPad X1. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon 30th Anniversary Edition has a carbon fiber top cover and a retro RGB ThinkPad three-color Logo. The model also sports the 30th Anniversary Edition logo, as well as green and blue TrackPoint replacement caps.
The ThinkPad X1 commemorative model has a
14-inch OLED screen that outputs 2.8K videos with a resolution of 2880 x 1800p.
The position of the rotating shaft is numbered from 0001 to 5000 representing
the number of units available. The display covers a 100% P3 color gamut and has
a 90Hz refresh rate.
The model is powered by the Intel Core
i7-1260P processor with 32GB running memory and 1TB of storage. The new tablet
has a 1080p high-definition camera with Windows Hello face recognition
integrated into the device. There are also four microphones with support for
far-field audio pickup. The packaging of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon 30th
Anniversary Edition is made of 100% rapidly renewable bamboo and sugarcane
fibers which are compostable. The package also includes a brand history book
and Lenovo stickers and other freebies.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is available
on pre-order in Taiwan for around US$ 2,870 (NT$ 90,900). The model will be
released fully in December 2022. It has been a huge trajectory of success since
1992 when the first ThinkPad was launched in Japan. It has gone through several
innovations all through which continue to make it a competitive tablet.
