The global version of the iQOO Neo 6 went live only a few months ago, but leaks are already piling up for its successor. The phone just got listed by the 3C while leakster Digital Chat Station revealed some key details. The iQOO Neo 7 will bring upgraded battery tech with support for faster 120W charging (20V/6A), topping the 80W of the global and the Chinese versions of the Neo 6. The battery capacity is yet to be revealed, but the current model has 4,700mAh in its tank.
Both of the global and Chinese Neo 6 were
powered by Qualcomm chips (Snapdragon 870 and 8 Gen 1, respectively), but the
new model is expected to ditch those in favor of a Dimensity 9000+, which was
recently featured on the ROG Phone 6D, for example.
According to DCS the iQOO Neo 7 will
feature an FHD+ 120Hz display (with PWM dimming). The main camera will feature
the 50MP IMX766V sensor (a version of Sony’s IMX766 customized for vivo,
1/1.56”, 1.0µm), replacing the 64MP GW1 sensor (1/1.72”, 0.8µm) of the Neo 6.
The IMX766V was used in the iQOO 8 Pro flagship from last year.
It’s possible that the iQOO Neo 7 will be
unveiled next month. However, it’s hard to tell if that will be a global or a
China-only launch. Also, it’s quite possible that there will be major
differences in hardware between regions, as was the case with the Neo 6.
