Tecno introduced the Camon 19 Pro back in June during an event at Rockeeller Center in New York. It had two colors at the launch, but now it is getting a third option as it makes its way to India. Meet the Tecno Camon 19 Pro Mondrian as the first phone in the Asian country with multiple changing colors on the back. The design follows the abstract paintings of Pier Mondrian, one of the most popular artists of the 20th century.
The multi-color-changing smartphone uses
polychromatic photoisomer technology. It allows the monochrome cover to show
multiple colors under different lighting, imitating Mondrian’s rejection of
visually perceived reality as subject matter. The thick lines and straight
angles follow the artist’s idea to restrict forms to the most basic elements
while different colors bring different meanings.
The Camon 19 Pro design is not so
complicated - different rectangles show different hues of blue and purple after
exposure to sunlight. The product is done after “rigorous crafting” of 22 steps
and 500 iterations of testing. The design is entirely new and among the more
refreshing solutions on the market, but the hardware is pretty much the same -
a Helio G96 chipset, 64MP main camera with RGBW sensor and a 50 MP 2x portrait
cam. The shooters also have EIS, OIS and HDR support.
The Mondrian edition of this LTE-only
Camon 19 Pro is the first variant Tecno introduces in India. The price is
INR 17,999 and pre-booking will begin on September 22 on Amazon.
