Poco M5


The M5 comes with a 6.58” LCD with Full HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. There is Gorilla Glass protection on top of the screen and a punch hole for the 5MP selfie camera. There are three cameras mounted on an island spanning from end to end at the back. The main 50 MP f/1.8 shooter is assisted by 2MP f/2.4 macro and 2MP f/2.4 depth units.

The highlight of the Poco M5 specs sheet is the Helio G99 chipset - the first in the series built on the 6nm process technology by TSMC. It has two Cortex-A76 CPU cores running at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 units at 2.0GHz. On the Poco M5 it's paired with 4GB or 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. There is also a microSD slot for storage expansion. The Poco M5 ships with MIUI 13 on top of Android 12 out of the box. It weighs 201 grams and packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging support.

It has a plastic back with a leathery finish, available in all three colors - Black, Green, and the unique Poco Yellow. The starting price for a 4/64 GB version is € 189, the 4/128 GB variant is  €209, while 6/128 GB will cost € 229. The first buyers will get an early bird discount of € 20 оnce the sale begins tomorrow, September 6. Users in India have a more limited choice - either the first option for INR 12,499 (US$ 155) or the third for INR 14,499 (US$ 180), with an extra INR 1,500 (US$ 20) discount through partnering banks. Sales in the South Asian country will begin a week later, on September 13.
