The Lifeme Smart Camera was among a lineup of products unveiled last week by Meizu. The August 18 launch event also saw the release of earphones, power banks, chargers, and cameras. The Meizu Lifeme Smart Camera is the culmination of Meizu’s partnership with Shixi Technology. Shixi has some links with Meizu previously and is focused on optics, imaging, AI algorithms, and the like.
The lifeme smart camera material consists
of aviation-grade aluminum alloy and CNC integrated molding. The materials
passed through an anodization process and the device features super
wear-resistant light-transmitting glass. One of the major highlights of the new
Meizu camera is its 48MP Sony IMX581 sensor. It also has a 1/2-inch outsole and
a professional-grade ISP with 1T computing power. The camera is capable of
recording 4K videos and has a wide-angle coverage (107 degrees). Other
components include a 6P optical lens, ring flash, and anti-glare coating.
The Meizu lifeme can pick audio sounds up
to 7 meters thanks to its four-mic array. As with the hardware, the software
outlay is also vital for the lifeme. It is based on the Phantom AI full-scene
imaging algorithm and supports a raft of functions. These include auto-focus,
auto tracking, multiple gesture operations, and multiple close-up modes. The
USB-C interface in the smart camera offers versatility and plug-and-play
operation.
While it is known that the Meizu Lifeme
will enter the market in September, there are no specifics yet. The device will
retail at 699 yuan (US$ 103).
