There seems to be a massive demand for the MA1 wireless Android Auto dongle. The device was released in January on Amazon and Target originally. Stocks for the MA1 have continued to be exhausted due to pent-up demand. A quiet launch of the Motorola MA1 wireless Android Auto adapter was done on Best Buy. The device has however been sold out, with the last units purchased by June 3.
The rapid demand for Motorola’s MA1
adapter is spurred by its affordability and plug-and-play capability. The MA1
costs US$ 89.99 and has enjoyed a 5-star performance since its release. It has
been only available on shelves for at most one month. It offers an excellent
and convenient way of connecting Android Auto to a car.
Even with the shortages, the MA1 can still
be purchased at Amazon through scalpers, albeit at a higher price. One
observable challenge currently for the MA1 adapter is the lack of updates to
its firmware. This could be the reason for observed lag issues when the MA1 is
paired with some smartphones. This is in addition to the unavailability of the
device amidst other difficult alternatives.
