Xiaomi's Poco unveiled the Poco M4 Pro 5G last November with the Dimensity 810 SoC, and today the company announced its more affordable vanilla version, powered by the Dimensity 700 chip. The Poco M4 5G runs Android 12-based MIUI 13 and comes in two memory configurations - 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. It also has a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 512GB.
The Dimensity 700-powered smartphone packs
a 6.58" 90Hz FullHD+ LCD, which is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and has a
notch for the 8MP selfie camera. The panel supports an adaptive refresh rate,
meaning it can switch between 30Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz depending on the content
type. The rear panel of the Poco M4 5G, flaunting what Poco calls a Hypnotic Swirl
Design, sports two cameras - 50MP primary and 2MP depth units.
The rest of the Poco M4 5G's highlights
include a side-mounted fingerprint reader, 3.5mm headphone jack, Hi-res audio
certification, USB-C, and IP52 rating. Fueling the entire package is a 5,000
mAh battery with 18W wired and 5W reverse wired charging support. However, the
adapter that comes bundled can go up to 22.5W.
The Poco M4 5G is offered in three colors and
will be available for purchase in India starting May 5 through Flipkart. Its
4GB/64GB model is priced at INR 12,999 (US$ 170/€ 160), whereas the 6GB/128GB
version will cost you INR 14,999 (US$ 195/€ 185). However, those buying the
smartphone with their SBI credit card are entitled to a limited-time discount
of INR 2,000 (US$ 26/€ 24).
