A little over half a year ago OnePlus launched its Nord 2 5G - a direct sequel to its first Nord phone and now it repackaged the Nord 2 core specs into a new device. OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G where the CE stands for Core Edition is a trimmed down version of the Nord 2 5G in new clothes. It retains Nord 2’s 90Hz 6.43-inch AMOLED display and 4,500 mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC fast charging but goes with a Dimensity 900 5G chipset and switches up the cameras.
Nord CE 2 5G is slightly slimmer at 7.8 mm
yet it manages to add in a headphone jack and microSD card slot which were both
missing on the Nord 2. The back houses a redesigned camera island with a 64MP
main cam alongside an 8MP ultrawide snapper and a 2MP macro cam. The selfie
shooter here is 16MP instead of the 32MP one on the Nord 2.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 900 chipset is joined
by 6GB or 8GB RAM while the onboard storage is set at 128GB though you can
expand via the microSD slot. The software side is covered by Android 11 with
OxygenOS 11.3 on top.
OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G comes in Gray Mirror
and Bahama Blue colors. The baseline 6/128GB trim goes for INR
23,999/€ 349/£ 299. Open sales in India start on February 22 while those in
Europe begin on March 10.
