Google launched the Nest Hub in India back in 2019. Today, it has launched the second generation Nest Hub in India, after it was introduced last year. It features some new technology such as a dedicated on-device machine learning chip that allows Google to transfer some of its Assistant capabilities from their data centers to the device itself, enabling faster responses for a common commands.
The new smart display has a 7″ edgeless
glass display that’s easy to clean and functions as a beautiful digital photo
frame. It is designed with recycled materials, with its plastic mechanical
parts containing 54 percent recycled post-consumer plastic It has a full-range
speaker with 43.5 mm (1.7″) driver, with an improvement of 50% in the bass
response when playing music compared to the predecessor. There are 3 far-field
microphones for voice pickup compared to the first gen.
The Indian version doesn’t have
gesture-sensing Soli tech for sleep tracking. The Nest Hub doesn’t include a
camera, so you feel comfortable placing it in the private spaces of your home.
There is an ambient EQ light sensor present on top, and it allows the screen to
automatically adjust to match the lighting in the room.
The Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) comes in
Charcoal and Chalk colours, is priced at Rs. 7999 and is available from
Flipkart, Tata Cliq, and Reliance Digital from today, and will be available
through more channels soon.
