ZTE today lifted the curtains on the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra Aerospace Edition phone through a launch event that also unveiled various other products such as the ZTE Voyage 20 Pro, multiple routers, and the ZTE LiveBuds Pro earbuds. But the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra Aerospace Edition obviously continues to be the star of the show because of the massive amount of RAM it packs – 18 gigabytes.
Not only that, but the phone also offers a
mammoth 1TB of storage, making it the industry’s first to come with an 18GB RAM
+ 1TB storage config. The phone carries a space theme all around – from its
black-ish coloring to the planet-themed packaging. ZTE says that it’s designed
to be a tribute to the spirit of space exploration and Chinese space heroes.
The box packs multiple other surprises
too. The protective film within shows a space station orbiting the earth in a
minimalist style. There’s even a custom case that appears to be made of carbon
fiber. Last but not least, you also get ZTE LiveBuds Pro Bluetooth earbuds
inside that normally cost 349 Yuan or around US$ 55.
Apart from all of the aforementioned
specials, the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra Aerospace Edition is identical to its vanilla
version. It is equipped with the Snapdragon 888 processor and has an FHD+
6.67-inch AMOLED curved screen with support for HDR 10+ and 144Hz refresh rate.
But perhaps the most impressive bit is its rear camera module that packs triple
64MP cameras – another industry first. It doesn’t just end there though as
there’s also a fourth 8MP periscope telephoto sensor. Upfront, you get a 16MP
sensor for selfies. The phone’s battery is sized at 4600mAh with support for
66W fast charging.
The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra Aerospace Edition is
priced at 6,998 Yuan (US$ 1,095), but it’s unlikely that it will be making it to
the global market. You can still grab the regular ZTE Axon 30 Ultra (8+128) for US$ 749 though and there’s even an additional US$ 200 discount deal as part of Black
Friday.
