Xiaomi is expected to announce the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi X12X, and Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphones on Dec. 28. A new report by Xiaomiui.net has revealed that the Xiaomi 12 family includes two ‘Lite’ branded models such as Xiaomi 12 Lite and Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom. The publication has shared key details of these smartphones.
According to the publication, the Xiaomi
12 Lite is codenamed as ‘Taoyao’ and its shortened model number is L9. Its
global variant with 2203129G model number and India edition with 2203129I have
appeared at the IMEI database recently. The Xiaomi 12 Lite is expected to
arrive with a 6.55-inch AMOLED Full HD display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate
and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The device may sport a curved edge
display like the China-exclusive Xiaomi Civi, which debuted in September this
year. The Xiaomi 12 Lite could be
powered by the Snapdragon 778G or Snapdragon 780G. Its rear-facing triple
camera unit may feature a 64-megapixel Samsung GW3 lens. It will be accompanied
by a wide-angle lens and a macro camera.
The Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom is said to have a
‘Zijin’ codename and L9B shortened model number. It is likely to arrive as a
China-exclusive device. The reason behind it is that only the Chinese variant
of the phone with 2203129BC has been spotted at the IMEI database.
Leaked information reveals that the Xiaomi
12 Lite Zoom will feature a 6.55-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz display with curved
edges and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. It will come with Snapdragon 778G
or Snapdragon 780G and a 64-megapixel Samsung GW3 triple camera unit with a
wide-angle and a telephoto lens.
Xiaomi 12 Lite series is likely to look
similar to the Xiaomi Civi handset. It can be said based on its model numbers
that both models may debut in March 2023. The lineup may come preinstalled with
Android 12 based MIUI 13.
