Remember how Samsung gave you the option to customize the hinge cover on the Galaxy Z Fold2? Well, it has extended that idea with the new Bespoke Studio starting with the Galaxy Z Flip3 Bespoke Edition, the Galaxy Watch4 series joins the fun as well (but not the Z Fold3).
The Galaxy Bespoke Studio lets you choose
the color of the Front, Back and the Frame of the phone. Right now you can pick
between Black and Silver for the frame, for the front and back you have the
following options: Blue, Pink, Yellow, White and Black. Note that the camera
island remains black no matter what options you choose.
Overall, this gives you 49 color combinations
to choose from (by Samsung's count - note that some color combos overlap with
already existing paint jobs for the Z Flip3). Later on you will have the option
to buy new panels and swap out the ones that your phone came with (and no, we
didn’t hear anything about this applying to vanilla Z Flip3 phones).
The key innovation here is the automation
that allows Samsung’s supply chain to put together your customized phone and
deliver it to select markets. Right now the Bespoke Studio serves the following
markets: the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, France and (of course) South Korea.
Samsung plans to expand that list later on.Two more devices join the Bespoke
experience today – the Galaxy Watch4 and the Watch4 Classic. You can pick
between the two models and their two sizes. Then it’s off to choosing a
compatible band. The prices of the watches are unchanged.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 Bespoke Edition
starts at US$ 1,100 – that’s just US$ 50 more than the regular price of the 256 GB
model (there is no 128 GB option on the Bespoke Edition). And note that the
purchase comes with 12 months of Samsung Care+ protection. You can also get up
to US$ 600 of trade-in credit. You can order one today on Samsung.com (assuming
you are in one of the supported countries, of course).
