Samsung today announced that the vanilla Galaxy A22 is now available in the Philippines, a month following the launch of its 5G variant. To recap, the Samsung Galaxy A22 is a budget device featuring a curved design in Violet, Mint, White, and Black colorways at the back and a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, HD+ resolution, and halo notch housing the 13MP f/2.2 selfie shooter. It also has an Eye Comfort Shield that reduces harmful blue light.
Powering this handset is MediaTek's 12nm Helio G80 octa-core processor with Mali-G52 MC2 (950MHz). The version that arrived in PH is the 6GB RAM + 128GB expandable storage. For battery, it comes with a large 5,000mAh capacity with USB-C 15W Fast Charging. On the camera part, it goes with a 48MP f/1.8 main shooter with OIS + 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle + 2MP f/2.4 macro + 2MP f/2.4 depth + LED flash.
This is the cheapest A series device with an OIS for improved stabilization. The South Korean firm also highlights that it comes with the Night Mode combines 12 frames for a stable and bright photo, Scene Optimizer that recognizes 20 types of scenes and automatically adjusts the exposure, contrast, white balance, and more, and My Filters can store up to 99 settings that express different moods and aesthetics. The device also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, Dolby Atmos, and WiFi, 4G LTE.
