SanDisk Pro-Dock 4 was officially announced by Western Digital. It is a modular 4-bay reader docking station to make file transfers more efficient. The SanDisk Pro-Dock 4 is described as a new innovative 4-bay reader docking station. It has 4 slots for different card reading modules that can be read at the same time by utilizing one Thunderbolt 3 cable. It also has a 260W power supply that can charge devices and accessories.
The modules that will be available will
support CFast, CFexpress, Red's Mini-Mags, CF, microSD, and SD formats. This
will simplify your workflow and offloading solutions especially if you use a
multi-camera setup with different memory card supports. This also makes
traveling simpler since you will only need to bring one reader since you only
need the modules to support other formats.
The SanDisk Pro-Dock 4 is expected to be
available later this year. No word about the price yet though. Speculations
point that you can buy the hub with all the launch modules together. There
might be different configurations or bundles upon launch though.
