ASUS has launched a new notebook in China. The VivoBook Pro 14 arrives with several upgrades both in design and hardware, including AMD’s Ryzen 5/7 processors.ASUS VivoBook Pro 14 The ASUS VivoBook Pro 14 has an ultra-thin build and is lightweight. It weighs 1.35 kg with a thickness of just 17.9 mm, making it easy to be held with one hand for daily use and also to take on business trips. The device powered by AMD’s game-centric Ryzen 5000H series processor which was announced last year. The laptop is available in two models with the top variant powered by a Ryzen 7 5800H Octa-core processor.
The Ryzen 7 5800H is a 7nm SoC with an
octa-core architecture and has 16 threads. The processor frequency ranges
between 3.2-4.4GHz. The processor is paired with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB
PCIe SSD hard drive. The second version packs a Ryzen 5 5600H Octa-core
processor with a similar memory configuration as the Ryzen 7 version.
As the name implies, the VivoBook Pro 14
sports a 14-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and 90Hz
refresh rate support. The display supports 600nits brightness, up to 1000000:1
contrast ratio, 100% DCI-P3 cinema-level wide color gamut, and 1 billion
colors. The laptop has a 45W cooling
system that is designed to boost performance. Further, it comes with Harman
Kardon sound systems with support for AI intelligent noise reduction. There is
also privacy camera protection, and fingerprint recognition embedded under the
power button.
In terms of price, the ASUS VivoBook Pro
14 Ryzen 5 5600H model with 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD is priced at 4,599 yuan
(US$ 710). On the other hand, the VivoBook Pro 14 with Ryzen 7 5800H, 16GB RAM,
and 512GB SSD is priced at 4,999 yuan (US$ 772). The notebook is presently on
pre-sale in China via Jingdong (JD.com).
