Fujifilm has struck a partnership with game console manufacturer Nintendo to bring some of Nintendo’s iconic themes to the new version of Fujifilm’s Instax Mini Link photo printer, which is due for unveiling on April 30. The upcoming photo printer will contain Nintendo Switch themes and, with the Instax Mini Link app, you could edit your Switch screenshots, add Nintendo characters to your photos and print them on Instax film. Fujifilm’s Instax film brings back memories of the Polaroid era of photo production for photo enthusiasts.
According to Fujifilm, its teeming customers should expect the new Switch-inspired Instax Mini Link printer to be released on April 30 and cost US$ 100. A more glamorous version will be available from May 2021 at the cost of US$ 120.
The Nintendo-themed Instax Mini printer
bears a striking resemblance with the current Instax Mini Link, but it comes in
Switch-inspired red and blue trim, together with a few exquisite design
features and accessories.
Fujifilm will also release the
accompanying Instax Mini Link app that would be available for download free and
compatible with the existing Instax Mini Link printer. The app is called the
Instax Mini Link for Nintendo Switch and would enable users to transfer shots
from their Switch using a QR code. There are presently up to 60 Nintendo-themed
frames available in the app that a user can pick from and several filters. The
frames were drawn from characters in several of Nintendo’s popular games and
even the upcoming and highly innovative New Pokémon Snap.
It is expected that this new collaboration
between Fujifilm and Nintendo will attract a segment of Nintendo’s gaming fans.
The global rollout plans may be unveiled by Fujifilm soon.
