Huawei is expected to launch its P50 series in June with Harmony OS 2.0 out of the box. While we’ve seen renders of the Huawei P50 and Huawei P50 Pro with two big camera lenses, today we’ve received some images in our inbox that suggest something completely different.
According to our anonymous tipster, this
phone is part of the new P series, and looking at the curved edges, we would
think it is the P50 Pro, however, the camera setup on the back lacks a
periscope lens, meaning it could be the vanilla P50 as well.
These is also a chance that the image are
fake as the camera island resembles the Mate 30 series, and we know Huawei is a
company that invests a lot in the looks of its devices - it would be unusual to
reuse an old design.
The off-centered island is not something
out of the ordinary, but the outer glowing ring spans over the edge, which just
looks like poor planning. The phone also does not have a volume rocker like the
Mate 30, but we already saw the Huawei P40 and Huawei Mate 40 phones bring it
back. Huawei’s smartphone business might be cornered, but we doubt this Mate
30-esque design will be recycled for the Huawei P50 series.
