HUAWEI MatePad 10.4, MatePad T 10, and MatePad T 10s


Huawei has launched a lot of products in Japan and that includes the HUAWEI MatePad 10.4-inch, MatePad T 10, and MatePad T 10s. The MatePad 10.4-inch is a refresher to the already available versions with upgrades in specs just like we saw in Malaysia. Before anything, let’s take a look at the Japanese prices of the products that Huawei launched today.

  • HUAWEI MatePad 10.4(Wi-Fi, 64GB)- ¥ 33,880 (US$ 313)
  • HUAWEI MatePad T 10(Wi-Fi, 32GB)- ¥ 23,980 (US$ 220)
  • HUAWEI MatePad T 10s(Wi-Fi, 32GB)- ¥ 27,280 (US$ 252)

The tablets will be released in Japan from April 23, i.e, on Friday. Users can purchase them on Huawei Japan’s official website. Users who buy here will get a Huawei Official Flip cover as a gift. It is worth ¥ 1,980. As mentioned above, the new MatePad 10.4 model comes with upgrades in the chipset, storage, and more. The device features a 10.4-inch 2K full-view IPS display with a resolution of 2000×1200 pixels.


This display has a maximum brightness of about 470 nits, a screen-body ratio of 84% and features like eBOOK mode for better comfort while reading. Under the hood, the MatePad 10.4-inch Wi-Fi model features a Kirin 820 chipset. This is an upgrade from the Kirin 810 on the LTE models from 2020 and it has features like Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. The Kirin 820 is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. This is an upgrade from the 32GB on the older models. You can also expand the storage via MicroSD card up to 512GB on the new model. For cameras, the MatePad 10.4 has an 8MP camera sensor each on the front and the rear side. It also has 4 microphones and Harmon Kardon tuned quad speakers for surround audio.

Other features include a 7,250mAh battery with 22.5W charging, Type-C cable, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi ax for connectivity, HUAWEI M-Pencil compatibility,  and run EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 OS. Finally, the MatePad 10.4  comes in Grey color, measures 245x155x7.4mm and weighs about 460 grams (with battery).


Huawei MatePad T 10 and MatePad T 10s have a lot of common features like chipset, battery, storage. However, they differ in few areas like display and dimensions, sound. The MatePad T 10 features a 9.7-inch IPS display that has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The MatePad T 10s, on the other hand, has a 10.1-inch IPS display that has a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. The MatePad T 10 has only an Accerelometer sensor while the T 10s has Accelerometer, Ambient light, and proximity sensors. The next major difference is the speakers inside, although both have stereo speakers with a mic, only the MatePad T 10s is tuned by Harmon Kardon.

Other than this, both the tablets feature similar specs like Kirin 710A Octa-core chipset, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, microSD card storage expansion up to 512GB, 5MP rear and 2MP selfie camera, 5,100mAh battery, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and run EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 OS. Despite the screen difference, both the tablets have the same aluminum alloy body, Deep sea Blue color, measure 240x159x7.9mm, and weigh 450 grams.

The company has also launched the HUAWEI Band 6, FreeBuds 4i, WATCH FIT Elegant Edition along with the tablets mentioned above. You can look at their prices below:
