Huawei P40


Global titan Huawei just announced a 4G-only version of the camera-focused P40 phone in China, almost a year following the release of its 5G version. Clearly targeting those on a tighter budget who wants to experience the camera prowess of the P40 5G, the P40 4G in China comes with a more affordable price tag of CNY 3,998 or around PHP 30K out of straight conversion.

But the rest are similar, the handset is boasting an n IP53 rated 3D glass body with a 6.1-inch OLED screen, FHD+ resolution, In-Display fingerprint reader, and a punch-hole for the 32MP selfie camera with IR depth sensor. It also has 8GB RAM, 128GB expandable storage via NM card, and a 3,800mAh battery with USB-C 22.5W wired charging as well as a Leica triple-cam starring the new 50MP RYYB f/1.9 OIS Ultra Vision Wide camera with 1/1.28-inch sensor size, 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, 8MP f/2.4 with 3x optical zoom and a Color Temperature Sensor. The device also has an advanced WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band GPS, NFC, and dual SIM with eSIM.

The difference, the chipset. It is using the 4G version of the 7nm Kirin 990 4G processor with a Dual NPU instead of the Kirin 990 5G with Triple NPU and Balong 5000 5G modem. Huawei P40 4G price is CNY 3,998. The device is now available for sale in China. There's no info if Huawei will make this official in other parts of the world.
