Last year, Apple released a new generation of iPhone SE. It comes with the same A13 Bionic chip as the iPhone 11 series. Also, it sports a small-size 4.7-inch screen. And now, there are many official and unofficial news claiming a new handset from this camp is on the road. Recently, 91mobiles cited a tipster from Twitter who said that the next generation of iPhone SE phones will be called the ‘iPhone SE Plus’.
Moreover, the source disclosed some of its
key features. It turns out the iPhone SE Plus screen size will be upgraded from
a 16:9 small screen to a 6.1-inch display. And under the hood, it will host the
Apple A14 chip. However, there is a possibility that we still will see the A13
SoC. In addition, the main camera still uses a single lens of 12MP. The latter
supports OIS (optical image stabilization), smart HDR shooting, etc. The front
camera uses the same Face ID as the iPhone 12 series.
It is worth mentioning that, given that
Apple has completely wiped out the LCD screen from the new machine, the
inventory of LCD screens is currently only digested by the iPhone 11. However,
due to the overall upgrade of the iPhone 12 this year, the current performance
of the iPhone 11 model is not outstanding. So Apple is likely to use the iPhone
SE Plus to empty the inventory. In terms of price, the standard version should
come at US$ 499, while the high-end version will cost US$ 699.
However, the unlocking method of the new
generation of iPhone SE is still a mystery. In addition to Face ID, there are
rumors that it may use under-screen fingerprint or side fingerprint recognition
method. In terms of the appearance, the iPhone SE Plus frame will be changed to
the right-angle shape of the iPhone 12. Plus, it will add the IP67 dust and
water resistance.
As a reference, in 2016, Apple released
the first small-screen ‘flagship’ – iPhone SE. After that, it took four full
years for Apple to launch the second generation of the SE series, namely the ‘iPhone
SE’.
