ZTE made headlines back in September when it announced its Axon 20 5G - the first smartphone with an under-display camera. Now, the Chinese maker is releasing an updated version of the same phone with 12GB RAM and an orange faux leather back dubbed Axon 20 5G Extreme Edition.
Apart from those two changes the rest of
the hardware is identical to the regular Axon 20 5G. You still get a 6.92-inch
OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The under-display
camera is still here as is the under-display fingerprint scanner near the
bottom of the panel. Check out ZTE's description on how the under-display cam
works as well as some macro shots of the screen above the sensor.
The Snapdragon 765G sits at the helm aided
by 12GB RAM (up from 6/8GB on the standard version) alongside 256GB storage.
The rear houses a 64MP primary camera alongside an 8MP ultrawide snapper and
two 2MP modules for macro photography and depth data. There’s a 4,220 mAh
battery with 30W charging while the software front is covered by Android 10 and
ZTE’s Mifavor 10.5.
The ZTE Axon 20 5G Extreme Edition will
retail for CNY 3,498 (US$ 532) though its actual release date was not specified.
