Mobvoi has now unveiled its TicWatch Pro 3 LTE in Europe. As the name suggests, the biggest change here is the addition of LTE antennas in the watch which allows it to take calls and send texts on its own without a paired smartphone. It's important to note that at launch, cellular connectivity is limited to Vodafone users in Spain, Germany and the UK through the carrier's OneNumber program.
The TicWatch Pro 3 series has an
interesting trick up its sleeves – two display layers. There’s the main
1.4-inch AMOLED display with 454 x 454 resolution which sits below a TN
reflective screen that takes over once the main screen switches off. This in
turn helps prolong battery life while still giving you an Always On Display
with time, health data and other basic information.
Speaking of battery life the TicWatch Pro
3 is rated at 72 hours of endurance with all its features on and up to 45 days
in its low-power mode which relies on the backlight TN display alone.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 4100 platform sits at the helm which is the fastest
mobile chipset around.
You also get the usual array of sports and
health tracking including heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep and stress values as
well as on-board GPS. The whole package is IP68-rated and runs on Google’s Wear
OS interface. The Mobvoi TicWatch 3 Pro LTE is up for grabs in the UK and
Germany for £ 329/€ 360.
