Amazfit held an event today in China where two wearables were introduced - the Amazfit Pop Pro and the Amazfit GTS 2 mini. The devices come as a variation of the already known Amazfit Pop and Amazfit GTS 2 with some key differences, allowing Huami to position them in different price categoris.
For the most part the Amazfit Pop Pro is
identical to the its non-Pro sibling that sells in India under the name Amazfit
Bip U. We’re looking at a 1.43” square LCD, Bluetooth 5, 5ATM, 60 sports modes,
etc. The battery is 225 mAh and the company promises 9 days life on a single
charge.
What makes the Pro stand out is its own
GPS - the regular Amazfit Pop relied on the connected phone’s GPS, meaning it
wasn’t tracking properly running and cycling workouts if your phone wasn’t also
with you. The extra module pushes the price from CNY 349 to CNY 399 (US$ 60). Sales
are scheduled to start on December 10 when the Amazfit Pop Pro will appear
across major Chinese retailers in Black, Green, and Pink.
The Amazfit GTS 2 mini does not bring new
features - it does exactly the same thing as the Amazfit GTS 2. The difference
is the size and the battery capacity. Instead of 1.65” AMOLED, now we have a
1.55” screen. The power cell is 220 mAh but given the smaller screen and less
power consumption, the GTS 2 mini will maintain the 7-day heavy use, 14-day
regular use and 21-day basic watch mode endurance figures.
Decreasing the screen size by 0.1” allowed
Amazfit to offer the mini wearable for CNY 300 cheaper than the regular device.
Price is CNY 699 and the GTS 2 mini is already on sale at the brand’s website in
Pink, Green, or Black colors.
