The third big announcement of today’s event is the Mi Smart Speaker. It was already launched in China earlier in the year though this time we get to see it with Google’s Assistant built-in alongside Chromecast for easy media sharing on connected devices.
The speaker is made from metal and comes
with a touch control panel on top surrounded by an LED strip. It comes with a
front-firing 12W 63.5mm woofer and supports the DTS audio codec for richer
sounds. There are two far-field microphones located on top which should be able
to pick up your voice from afar.
The Mi Smart Speaker will sell for INR
5,999 (US$ 81) though a limited time launch offer gets it down to INR 3,499 (US$ 47).
Sales begin on October 1.
