An affordable phone called Oppo A32 was
introduced in China, but it looks suspiciously familiar. Turns out this is the
Oppo A53 rebranded for the domestic market with one color being replaced by
another. The phone comes with Snapdragon 460, three cameras, and a big battery
with some sort of fast charging.
The A53 has two RAM options - 4GB and 8GB,
while storage is 128GB in both cases. There is a microSD card slot for adding
up to 256GB more that can go in a dedicated slot next two the two SIM cards. The
front panel is a 6.5” LCD with 90Hz refresh rate and lowly HD+ resolution. The
selfie camera, coming with a 16MP sensor sits in a punch hole in the upper left
corner, while the back features a triple shooter mounted on an unnecessarily
big rectangle. You get a 13MP main snapper, coupled with a 2MP depth sensor and
a 2MP macro cam for photos up to 4 cm from the device. The battery inside the
phone is 5,000 mAh with 18W charging.
Oppo is already selling the A32 in three
colors - Blue, Black, and Green, with the third one being an exclusive for the
domestic scene, but users will miss on the Pearl White version. Pricing is
either CNY 1,199 (US$ 175/€ 150) or CNY 1,499 (US$ 220/€ 185).
