LG is ready to shake up our perceptions of
smartphone design with its upcoming Wing. We already know the swiveling phone
is getting announced on September 14 and we’ve even seen it in action a few
times on video.
Now, we get a new render from evleaks which
details the phone’s back and gives us another glimpse of the swiveling display.
We can see the phone will come in light blue and black colors and will boast
triple rear cameras housed in a rectangular cutout with a 64MP primary shooter.
The main display is rumored to come in at 6.8-inches, while the smaller one is
around 4-inches. The whole device seems surprisingly slim despite the rotating
display mechanism.
As for the use cases of a swiveling phone
we’ve seen its quite handy for driving as it can house navigation on the main
screen and an entire other app on the second smaller display and both can work
independent of each other. Another short demo showed us how gamers can benefit
from having extra content on the smaller display.
The Wing is expected to retail in the US$ 1,000 range and will be part of LG's Explorer Project series of devices which
will focus on new distinctive designs and use cases.
