The Huawei MateBook 14 is decidedly the
more powerful device of the two with the choice of a 6-core/12-thread Ryzen 5 4600H,
or a monster Ryzen 7 4800H processor with 8-cores/16-threads. The 7nm CPUs are
paired to AMD's built-in Radeon RX Vega 7 GPU.
It features a 14-inch 2160x1440px
touchscreen IPS LCD with the same 3:2 aspect ratio as the MateBook X. Peak
brightness is 300 nits. There are two USB-A (3.2) ports, 1 USB-C, 1 HDMI (2.0)
and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The machine weighs in at 1.49kg but it makes up for
the added heft with a beefier 56Wh battery, filled up by the same 65W charger.
The Huawei MateBook 14 will be sold
starting in October in a single Silver color option. Configurations start at
€849 for a 6-core Ryzen 5 4600H with 8/256GB, € 949 with 16/512GB and the
flagship Ryzen 7 4800H with 16/512GB for € 1,049.
