CompaQ, the then-popular company known for
its personal computers and notebooks, has re-entered the Indian market with its
new Smart TV lineup. An Indian startup named Ossify Industries has purchased
the CompaQ brand licence and has introduced new televisions in partnership with
Flipkart.
The CompaQ Smart Television lineup consists
of a 55-inch and 65-inch 4K QLED Smart Android TV. Both the models sport a
sleek design with an all-metal body, bezel-less display, and the 55-inch model
is 6.4mm thick while the 65-inch model is 7.9mm thick. These come with CompaQ’s
Experience Stabilisation Engine and the company says that the Stabilisation
Engine delivers “picture-perfect visuals seamlessly”.
Further, the 60Hz display on both the
models support HDR10 with Wide-Color Gamut Plus and ‘Super Brightness’. These
are powered by a 64-bit Quad-Core MediaTek Processor paired with 2.5GB RAM and
16GB internal storage. It has 24W bottom-firing box speakers with ‘Mimi Sound
Personalisation’ and on the software front, these run on the Android TV
Platform with support for Google Play Store, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube,
NetFlix, Disney+ Hotstar, ZEE5, and other apps out-of-the-box.
As for the connectivity and ports, there
is support for 2.4GHz WiFi, Bluetooth, 2x HDMI, 2x USB, 3.5mm jack on the
55-inch model, and 3x HDMI, 2x USB ports on the 65-inch model. Lastly, as it is
a certified Android TV, there is support for built-in Chromecast and Google
Assistant as well.
CompaQ 55-inch 4K QLED Smart TV is priced
at Rs. 59,999 and the 65-inch 4K QLED TV is priced at Rs. 89,999, and the
company says that this is an introductory price. Both models will be available
on Flipkart starting today. The company will also launch 32-inch HD, 40-inch
and 43-inch Full HD and 43-inch, 50-inch and 55-inch 4K TVs in the country
starting from Rs. 12,499.
