Huawei is
working on numerous products to hit the market as soon as possible. According
to recent reports, the company will extend its “Free” lineup with the new
Huawei FreeGo Bluetooth speaker. The “Free” lineup already boasts of a FreeBuds
TWS earbuds as well as a FreeLace wireless earphone. The report from popular
Weibo leakster, @长安数码君, claims that Huawei will soon launch a
portable Bluetooth speaker called FreeGo.
According to the leaker, the Huawei FreeGo
portable Bluetooth speaker comes with better sound quality. It also includes
more functions as well as a USB Type-C interface. This speaker is a portable
device considering its pocket size.
Looking at the design of this speaker, it
has a multipurpose button on the side. This button is a volume rocker and it
also accepts and rejects calls. Furthermore, this button activates the voice
assistant, mutes the microphone, and pause/resume playback. According to
Huawei, this device comes with a DRC dynamic compression algorithm and vocal EQ
adjustment. These ensure that it outputs a smooth and clear sound.
The Huawei FreeGo Bluetooth speaker also
comes with top-notch features like NFC for one-touch pairing. Furthermore, it
supports a 360° Omni-directional dual microphones. The microphone has a 3
meters range. Within this range, users can pick phone calls and hear the caller
clearly. To improve the call quality, this device uses an adaptive echo
suppression algorithm.
For its battery, it comes with an 11.25 Wh
battery that supports 9V 2A and 5V 2A fast charging. The charging of this
device is the USB Type-C interface which makes charging easier. As per the
battery capacity, the company claims that a 15-minute charge will provide 2 hours
of listening time.
As of now, the price and availability of
this device are still under wraps. There is no official information as to when
this device will be on the shelves. Furthermore, Huawei claims that the design
of this device is from the iconic vinyl player. The Huawei FreeGo Bluetooth speaker is only 120mm in diameter
and 31mm thick. For people like me that love a wide pocket, this device will
seamlessly slide into my pocket. Huawei and Honor will have a variety of
accessories to release in the near future. Huawei’s thin and light flagship
MateBook X will officially arrive on August 19. There are expectations that we
will see more accessories at the launch event.
