A couple of months ago, in April this
year, China-based Vivo had launched a new smartphone under its Y-series — Vivo
Y50. Today, the company has officially launched the Vivo Y50 in the Indian
market. The smartphone is priced at ₹ 17,990 which is approximately US$ 238 and the
company has confirmed that it will be available for purchase from tomorrow,
i.e. 10th June. The sale date for the device is in line with our previous
reporting.
Coming to the specifications, it features
a 6.53-inch Full HD+ display that offers a screen resolution of 2340 × 1080
pixels and a high screen-to-body ratio of 90.7 percent. Under the hood, the
device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset. In the Indian market,
the Vivo Y50 comes in only one memory variant — 8GB RAM with 128GB of internal
storage. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security,
placed in the top-center position.
As for the camera department, the
smartphone features a quad-camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel primary
camera, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a
2-megapixel depth sensor.
On the front side, the device has a
16-megapixel snapper housed inside the punch-hole notch, taking care of the
selfie and video calling needs. The phone runs the Android 10 operating system
out-of-the-box with the company’s own FunTouch OS 10 on top. Connectivity
options on the device include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS,
and USB Type-C port. The device is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery and supports
15W charging technology.
